Quality Turkey Hunts Our Turkey hunts are $150 plus sales tax a day with a three day minimum. Turkey applications for Spring 2010 will be accepted January 1, 2010 thru January 24 2010. New for the 2007 season was the harvest reporting. Every bird has to be reported within 24 hours of harvesting the bird. It can either be reported over the telephone or the internet. New for 2008 was that non-resident hunters may hunt during Spring Turkey Season 2. A nonreturnable fee of $5.00 will be added to all telephone orders. Call 1-800-367-1188 seven days a week. Visit the Iowa DNR website for application dates and forms. License fees are $102.00 . A non-resident hunting license is also required which is an additional fee of $112.00 plus hbitat stamp for $13.00. A one-bird limit insures large numbers of birds and the popularity of this sport among our residents has not taken off. These birds sport long beards, good spurs, and body weights are commonly harvested from 24 to 28 lbs.

If any license quotas have not been filled, the excess licenses will be sold through the telephone ordering system beginning 6 a.m. on February 7 until all have been filled or until the last day of season for which the license is valid. Your drawing results will not be provided over the phone. If you are unsuccessful in the drawing you will be assigned preference points that will be applied to the next years drawing.
